About

In June this year we became a  CIC a Community Interest Company and we have updated our logo to reflect this.

The Queens Road Allotments are unusual in that they are privately owned by individual allotment holders. Some of the owners garden the allotments themselves, while others rent them out.

The “Friends of Queens Road Allotments” was set up in 2008 to promote and protect the allotments.  We aim to keep the plots open and available for the benefit of the local community for generations to come.

There is a very healthy waiting list of between 20-30 people, and when new people take on overgrown plots we work together to help them get started.  Below is a photo of the results of two mornings of clearing by volunteers from 2 disused plots which are being brought back to life.

2 working parties - great results after 6 hours of clearing 2 plots
